Ko Honey Ellis tooku ingoa, I am the  founder of Kāinga & Co, a Māori home and lifestyle brand inspired by my journey of reconnecting with Te Reo Māori, my culture and my identity.

I’m a wife and maamaa to one son, and currently on a journey through IVF as we hope to grow our whānau.

My journey with Te Reo Māori began while I was pregnant with my son and studying full immersion Te Reo Māori. I began filling our home with Māori products and patterns, and quickly realised how much they influenced me — reminding me to speak more reo, think more Māori and stay connected to who I was.

Becoming a mother gave that journey a deeper purpose. I wanted to know who I was so that my son could know who he was and feel connected to his tuakiritanga.

From there, Kāinga & Co was born.

With Kāinga and Co i hope to reconnect the disconnected, hold the hand of those on their reo journey, and surround our tamariki with the beauty of who they are.
